The Double Eagle M86 AK-47 marks a major turning point for China-made airsoft guns. This is the first high end production AEG from China and we must say that Double Eagle has outdone themselves on this one.
First Impressions
The Double Eagle M86 AK-47 is modeled after a Romanian made AK-47 variant, so the first thing you will notice is the difference in selector pattern from the traditional AK. One click down from safety is semi-automatic for controlled, accurate shots. Drop the selector down another click to full auto and at the squeeze of the trigger the M86 fires 13 shots in under a second. The overall finish of the gun is outstanding as you can hopefully tell from the image. It is extremely hard to tell the plastic parts from the metal parts because the finish is that good.
Boasting an extremely high metal content the Double Eagle M86 AK-47 weighs in at just under 7 pounds fully loaded. Metal parts include:
- muzzle/front sight
- barrel
- mock cleaning rod
- front sling mount
- click adjustable rear sight
- bolt
- upper receiver cover
- trigger guard
- trigger
- selector switch
- rear sling mount
- butt plate
The upper receiver cover has a plastic tri-rail mount attached to it with three screws. However, this can be removed for a more traditional AK look, although it does leave three holes in the cover. Mounting a red dot and bi-pod does make a pretty mean looking RPK wannabe though!
The imitation wood finish on the M86 Double eagle AK-47 has a less reflective, more wood-like appearance than the Marui, and even when handling and tapping on it with my nails, I still cannot believe it’s plastic.

Conclusion
After an extensive performance testing session, we have come to the conclusion that the Double Eagle M86 AK-47 offers very close performance to a Marui for half the price. The trigger is very responsive with very little delay. The M86 uses a standard Version 3 metal gearbox with metal gears which is compatible with most Marui upgrades. The largest battery you can fit into the stock is an 8.4v 1800mah however with a 30 second modification you can shoehorn in an 8.4v 3300mah. Behind the spring loaded bolt lies the adjustable hop up just like on the Marui. The hop-up adjustment slider has a very solid feel to it and does not vibrate out of position even during full-auto firing.
The M86 magazines are also compatible with Marui magazines, and every magazine that is compatible with a Marui will work in the M86 Double eagle AK-47.
Included with the M86 will be a 340 round high capacity magazines, 8.4v 1200mah battery pack, 600 MA trickle charger. (The loading tool is not needed to load the included high capacity magazines, but is a nice feature in case you order some standard magazines for the gun.)
Overall, this gun has the weight, strength, durability, and accuracy that can hold its own against any other airsoft gun brand, and at half the price of a Marui! Now, that’s what we call “Value for Money”!

DEM86 AK47 is one of my best rifle i have,in fact i modified to our max club power limit with the use of M120 spring and 9.6v batt.and the result was almost same as marui.It can reach up to 360 to 400 fps,now Im planing to change the bushing in to metal for more smoothness of the gears,My negative impression to this rifle is the magazine,coz it is not same performance as of marui mags,but all in all this my highly recomended rifle to buy,cheap,good performance in iternals look a like to other branded aeg.This rifle is the one that I introduce to our new players,and as of now I sold 5 units in 7days excluding my own DEM86.My next move is to upgrade my rifle to fulliest,coz I want to show to my fellow players that DEM86 is now the gun to watch,so better take cover DEM86 is coming.
This is actually the AK released under double eagle brand (UTG got the same stuff, With Better finishing job but lower stock FPS), I got The double eagle release for a couple of months now and it worked just wonderful for open field skirmish even Performed better than CYMA Half metal Ak’s series and can par with more expensive ICS and marui Ak’s, So if you want to break from the mainstream marui totting stream… Get this one, it worth more than the price.
So M86 compatible with the M120 spring??im kinda new on airsoft modification,…so im asking to all the senior about changing the M120 spring into my China Airsoft Gun..
If im going to modificate ..what should i modif?

My country rarely imposes fps limit on field games. though CQB is limited up t0 330 fps only. I like this gun. kinda sturdy looking. Though some parts will give you some real pain in your ass. Worth noticing is the hop up rubber. Kinda stiff and not so rubbery like. Sumtimes it does’nt go back ti its original shape when pressed. heheheh. A simple TM hop up rubber replacement will cure that. Also you must seal the hop up system with teplon tape and youre good to go.
My DEak47 shoots around 525 fps. sp150 setup
Nice gun, but who is better cyma or double eagle ?

hi may i ask for the assembly of my m86p so i can fix my airsoft gun if ever some spare parts needs to be replaced and so i will have a guide if I decide to upgrade my m86P
hi! i’m fr the phil. china made aeg’s are going head 2 head here. think m86 is a nice gun. what type of upgrade should i go for if i wnt it to shoot farther and straighter also keeping in mind the life span of my gun? is the m120 spring enough? should i change something else? thanks, more power!!!!

we’re forming a team of 15 and 3/4 of our team has or is gonna buy the m86. we’re pretty impressed with the features of the gun. hope it won’t cost too much to upgrade it. miya buno ka paco,merky,jack,orlan,cabs, and to our sqd ldr. jojo.we wud like 2 thank gil leather’s for our accessories!!! bomba na!!!! i just took my m86(stock) this sunday game,and…what can i say? it stood up to the reputation of the real AK-47!!! as a stock i have no compains,well except for tha mis feed of the mag,but over all,its worth every peny that i paid for.
is the double eagle worth upgrading? pricewise is a tm a better deal? i want to see 400 plus fps. any help/
mag palit kayo ng AK47 Classic Army Waffle type 600 rds na Mag., ganun gawa ko ganda ng rate of fire.. wala mis fire… dont like uprgading too much..M120 limit ng gears nun… para sure na di sasabog mga gearzzz(kahit na version 3 delikado malakas na spring).. palit na din kyu spring guide, bushing na eagle force, nozzle na systema and piston assembly… para safe sa 410 fps… DEM86-AK47 is malupet… one of my team sa bottle army just like our unit DEM86-AK47 na i set up nya up to 580 fps… grabe nakaka takot halimaw na ung laruan nya… kaya lang it costs bout 15t.. set up lang….

this is a great gut and worth every penny.1 thing is the mags you should change it cause the standard mags misfires and the only solution is to change mags, i suggest tm 250 and 600 rnd hi cap mag.
i decided to buy this gun after reading the reviews about it. i’m a newbie so i try to educate myself more. this gun really is great! i couldnt add more to the numerous raves this rifle has already got. only problem this gun have are the standard mags which misfeeds but i will soon be replacing it. i will be using this gun on the field this coming july, my first airsoft game.
iv got my dem86 aeg 3 months ago… its worth.. the only prob iv encountered is the selector switch..bt after 3 months of heavy firing,my kalishnikov still works well wth the 12 volts battery..
forget any ACM eag..get the dem86 and HIT ‘EM HARD!!!!
